About me
Hello! My name is Bill and I’m currently studying Natural Sciences at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge. I hope to do a PhD improving food crops once I’ve finished my degree and I’m British, so English is my native language. I am a Harvard-Emmanuel fellow and so should have been in Boston, Massachusetts, USA last summer to conduct some research but I’m super excited to go next summer instead! I’m the current Treasurer of my college’s student body which involves both public speaking and maintaining a close eye on the finances! I love to play sports and was recruitment officer for the Rugby team as well as captaining my college’s mixed netball team to top of the league, displaying clear communication and leadership in both as well as dedication to organise and run each fixture and training session. Charity work plays a huge role in my interests outside of work, I organised and lead an expedition in which we raised over £7000 and I’ve volunteered at my local hospital and primary school where I predominantly tutored children with learning difficulties. This experience means I’m a sympathetic, nurturing teacher with excellent communication skills. I take pride in the teaching that I do and love to see students develop their skills and grow in confidence over time.
